How To Become A Member

To apply, please print and fill out the application form completely and legibly, and mail to:

Alternatively, you may scan the completed application form and send it as an attachment to: membership.hawthornecoop@gmail.com. Emailed applications must be sent in doc, docx or pdf format. Please note that image files, such as jpeg and png, will not be processed.

If your application is approved, following the required checks, you will be contacted by the Membership Committee to present for an interview at Hawthorne Co-op.

Please be advised that Hawthorne Co-op only contacts approved applicants when a unit becomes available. The length of time that your name has been on our applicant list has no bearing on our new member selection process. Approval is based on passing all required application form checks.

Special consideration is given to applicants who possess appropriate skills that would benefit our community. Such skills include Co-op Governance, Finance/Bookkeeping, Office Administration, IT/Computer Literacy, Building Maintenance and Social Event Planning.

All persons listed in your application must attend the interview.

You will be shown the available unit for rent during the appointment.

If you pass the interview, you will subsequently be contacted by the Membership Committee and advised accordingly.

Applications are kept on file for 6 months; you must update your information at that time, and every 6 months thereafter, if you wish to remain on our applicant list.
