Hawthorne Co-op is a single 3-storey building comprising 59 apartments. Ideally located in the heart of Newton in Surrey, BC, it is within easy walking distance to transit, shopping and services. Hawthorne officially opened on June 1, 1981.

Our mission is to provide safe, affordable housing to adults; to welcome diversity; to promote goodwill; and to encourage open communication and active participation within our membership for the benefit of all shareholders.

We offer:

  • Spacious 1-Bedroom (625 ft2) and 2-Bedroom (756 ft2) suites
  • Refrigerator and stove
  • Hot water included: members pay hydro (heat & light)
  • In-suite walk-in storage, plus underground storage lockers
  • Large balconies: most are 8ft deep x 13ft wide
  • Intercom: front and rear
  • Enclosed underground parking protected by electric security gate and cameras
  • Fobs for underground parkade and building entry doors
  • Designated parking: 1 space per suite, plus visitor and service parking spaces
  • Elevator to all floors
  • Front and rear wheelchair access to building and automated handicap rear door
  • Laundry facilities on each floor
  • Garbage disposal chutes on each floor
  • Amenity room for recreation and meetings
  • Non-smoking building
  • Pets allowed (Restriction: no dogs)
